This course is designed for students, scholars, and professionals who need more practice at the advanced level to polish their spoken English and sound near-native.  The course focuses on problems with American English sound/spelling patterns, word endings, syllables, stress, reductions, assimilation, blending, rhythm, and intonation common to speakers of different language backgrounds.  Emphasis will be placed on introducing students to the specifics of a Tri-State (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut) accent and contrasting it with accents from the rest of the country.

Class Schedule: Meets Mondays for 10 weeks

Class Hours: Courses are scheduled from 11:30 a.m. – 12:50 p.m.
